Had the external stitches out from my surgery (skin cancer) today. Was VERY painful as the stitches at the corner of my mouth were very tight. Still healing. As a distraction from the pain, I started my book cover design. Should only take me a few days to complete it, using my own art. Then I need to do the ebook conversion. Then, I will be ready to publish (hopefully within a week). Here's a pic of the current layout, using a template generated by KDP from my preferences and book size. The template will be completely covered, then the template layer will be hidden. This is for the paperback. The ebook will just have a front cover, adjusted to the specifications (1400 to 1600 pixels wide). I should be able to just use the same front cover proportions. Just a very short blog post today (tired). Update: finished the high-resolution design of my book cover (first image). Although, I might fade the reflected image on the back cover, so it's not competing so much with the other art. The actual file is much larger). I still need to crop it and resize for just the front cover for the ebook. All the artwork is mentioned in the book, a memoir about some of the behind-the-scenes drama during my advocacy journey, with focus on a complicated friendship with an autistic guy. I expect to self-publish Bipolar Courage: Are You Sure You're Not Autistic? within a week. It's been a project I've worked hard on for the past two years. Still playing
